New Studio!

We are so thrilled to finally be settled in to our new studio at the historic Revolution Mill Studios. Above are the before and after photos, the first taken in March, with Abigail (and Lila Mae) standing in what is now our reception/meeting area. We love it here -- come visit us soon!

Abigail shot this lovely wedding at Fearrington in June, and took this portrait of Andrea in the bridal suite just before the ceremony.

Lila Mae Lois, born 4/18/07

Joaquin's little sister arrived at the sensible hour of 2:36 p.m. on April 18, 2007 (which explains why this blog hasn't been updated in awhile...), and weighed 7lbs 4oz. She's already 12 lbs and is keeping us company at the studio. Joaquin calls her "La La."

What a cutie! Katie took these adorable photographs of Emmaleigh Claire -- Emmaleigh and Lila Mae are only a week apart in age, and we are about to shoot Emmaleigh's three-month photos in a few weeks.

Rachel and Matthew in The Knot

Another of our favorite weddings is currently featured in The Knot. Rachel and Matthew were married last December at the Crest Center in Asheville -- the rehearsal dinner was hosted at the Barn at the Biltmore, complete with a cozy bonfire and s'mores for the bundled guests. They are a wonderful couple!

Last week's "Go Triad," a local entertainment paper, featured an article about our very own Matthew Spencer, dubbing him "The Rock Photographer of Greensboro." Many of you know him only as a documentary wedding photographer extraordinaire, but he is quickly making a name for himself in the Southeast music scene. You can check out the article here:

Thanks for all your notes...

So many of you have written asking whether Joaquín is home yet (see earlier post below about our in-process adoption), and I am so grateful for your kind thoughts. In short, Paul and I, along with lots of other unwitting families, have gotten caught in a series of bureaucratic delays far beyond anyone's control. We had hoped to have him home this month, but it now looks like he will be in our arms forever in October (we hope). He is in great hands with his foster mother, "Tía Gladis," and is now 7 months old! I have to admit it has been a rough adjustment since we learned of the latest delay, but your thoughts and concern mean so much. I did take a spur-of-the-moment trip to Guatemala last month between weddings, and spent 4 wonderful (and sleepless!) nights caring for our sweet little guy. Naturally, I took a ton of photos:
