This past Sunday was the opening of the first-ever statewide North Carolina Heart Gallery. This exhibition featured portraits of children in the foster care system who are in need of permanent homes. The portraits were taken by 23 different North Carolina photographers, and the reaction has been tremendous. Sunday's reception brought out about 80 people, we had two news channels cover it, and -- most importantly -- there were lots of people wanting to speak to the on-hand adoption workers about how to get more information.
